breezes & birdsong
summer breeze—
pleasuring my face,
lifting stray strands of ponytail
from my sun-warm cheeks,
making fairy music with
the wind chimes,
reminding me You blow where You will
morning birdsong—
calling my drowsy soul
to attention,
lifting my heart toward lightness,
tweeting gladness that elicits
today’s first smile,
inviting me to join the joy of being Yours
two good gifts—
too easy to miss,
unless I sit
in our backyard’s beauty
when I wake,
opening to Your Presence,
surrendering to Your Love
