HELD

Sometimes, life hurts!

Stuff happens that stings, steals, stomps on our hearts.

I offer Held to you as a kind companion for those times.

May you be nourished and sustained by small bits of reassurance and wisdom, offered one letter of the alphabet at a time. May you be consoled to find that you are not alone in your anxiety, depression, fear, grief, or shame as you read short stories about tough times in my journey. May you experience The One Who Is Love as you try out the suggested contemplative practices.

I will be forever grateful to those who tended me during my tough times, and it’s my privilege to pay that care forward to others.

I humbly invite you to order Held for yourself if you are suffering or struggling. I also humbly invite you to tend others who are suffering or struggling by offering Held to them. May all of us know ourselves to be held by Love.

What you hold in your hands is a gift—the gift of Nita Landis’s courageous words, describing some of the most vulnerable, tender, and raw moments of her life. This is a book you don’t just read—it is to be savored and experienced. So give yourself the gift of time, brew a cup of tea, find a comfy chair, and allow yourself to be held in and by Love.

A warm embrace for those who suffer. Powerfully written. Beautifully crafted. Honest and vulnerable. This is the kind of book that takes a lifetime to write. It is an act of love and kindness to put into words what so many experience but cannot express. Faith and hope shine most brightly against the backdrop of human suffering.

When there are no words, scripts, or formulas to make sense of suffering, this book is a gentle companion. In working with hundreds of clients I have learned that nothing is more important than a safe and loving presence. This book points readers toward the presence of The One Who Is Love, a space where they can be safely held. Nita offers this from her own experience and lights the way for others.
